This book studies Chinese phonetics and characters, which can be further divided into three areas: phonology and experimental phonetics, Chinese rhyme and dialect, ancient characters and culture. The selected 28 papers have all been published on official periodicals or collections of academic works, which reflects the studies in these two research areas in recent years at Beijing Language and Culture University. Zhang Weijia is Director of the Scientific Research Office and Professor of College of Humanities and Social Science, Beijing Language and Culture University. He is also an Inviting Research Fellow of Comparative Linguistics Division, E-Institutes of Shanghai Universities.
